COMET-Farm defines a “project” as a collection of individual accounting activities with any combination of cropland/pasture/rangeland/orchard/vineyard; animal agriculture; agroforestry; and/or forestry. Within a single project, these accounting activities will have separate data entry and estimation methods, but their reports will generate on the same reporting page as individual tabs. Users can create up to 500 projects in COMET-Farm.
Please review this article for project limitations.
A "project," and any respective land parcels/animals/stands, are entered into the tool at the discretion of the account holder. The land parcels/animals/stands users can be under the same ownership or different ownership within the same project. This is also at the discretion of the COMET account holder. The COMET-Team recommends all COMET-users to use short, but descriptive language when naming projects, land parcels, animal groups, and/or forest stands. If you would like to aggregate COMET reports across multiple COMET projects, please review this article.
In the example below, the project named Cover Crop Tutorial consists of data entry for cropland/pasture/rangeland/orchard/vineyard and agroforestry accounting activities.
Thus, when the report is generated, users can view the GHG emission results for their cropland and agroforestry activities as separate tabs on the report page.
